Are Nintendo developing a Wii U game no one expects?

Want a mature Nintendo? Shame on you! Ninty is always mature!

According to a NeoGAF user called “Shikamaru Ninja”, one of the first-party games being in development for Wii U might be something we didn’t think of yet. He claims it’s something that has already been mentioned in speculative discussions, and further emphasizes it’s “[not] Mario or Zelda or Pokemon related”, while assuming it probably won’t sell well.

Furthermore, when asked if this game was a racing game, he negates it, but hints at “a couple of first-party racing games [going to be] announced for Wii U and 3DS at E3”. Another member asked to be quoted if the game is either Luigi’s Mansion 2, a sequel to Eternal Darkness or a Star Fox game, but Shikamaru Ninja doesn’t respond, and even declares the Battalion Wars franchise “as good as dead” later in the discussion. Of course, these two last bits might be a distraction, as he didn’t actively rule out anything – “as good as dead” isn’t entirely dead, mind you, and he might have simply missed that other post.

I would be very suprised if one of the 3 games teased on the Facebook wasn’t something completely new and adult. I don’t care what so long as it’s not a JRPG or a fighting game.

If Nintendo is releasing an M-rated game for the U, I’m sure we’ll enjoy the ride of a lifetime.

Maybe it’s just that I’m not familiar with NeoGAF, but will somebody please explain to me why we should be paying attention to what some random person on the internet is saying? What gives this guy more credibility than anybody else?

It’s because the mods on there are REALLY ban-happy and ban anyone claiming things they can’t prove. Also, this particular member of NeoGAF has been supposedly around there for more then a decade, and has a rather good reputation, which is quite an achievement on a forum where perma-bans are handed out as frequently as likes on Facebook… well, that’s an exaggeration, but I think you understand what I meant. Furthermore, the mods are especially cautious right before the E3 and make trap threads where anyone flamboyant gets banned right away, so posting something like this without proof would be virtual suicide, and not something one would expect from such an experienced “GAFfer”.

maybe it’s the return of eternal darkness or that M rated game they published for the game cube!!

Or possibly the return of the sanity meter that Nintendo trademarked, never to be used again….Until now
