BioShock Infinite won’t be coming to the Wii U

I think Irrational Games are being a bit…you know, irrational. In an interview with the German site GamesweltTV, they confirmed that they’re not planning to bring BioShock Infinite to Nintendo’s latest and greatest. Not only that, but they don’t have anything else in the cards for the Wii U, either.

I find this a bit of a shame, seeing as third-party developers really don’t have any reason to complain about the Wii U anymore. I mean, it’s the most powerful console in existence at the moment (and still will be for at least a couple of years after its release), and offers up an enormous palette of gameplay possibilities with all the controllers it supports.

    I am actually a little disappointed in Irrational games, I looked up all this stuff about Ken Levine and the company after seeing him at e3. I got all pumped up about it and now I hear this….. :/

    They are probably expecting the PS4/Xbox720 to come out soon. I doubt we will see anything for at least another 5 years except add-ons. This is because the non-fanboy’s will get pissed off if MS/Sony release consoles that have the same graphics yet controls that could have been implemented in the previous console. It’s more of Irrationals loss in my opinion.

    Bioshock may come out too early relative to the Wii U’s release to make it worth it for them to port without adding additional content, but adding that is a gamble since the Wii U is still to be proven in the market with ‘Hardcore’ gamers.

    I really do not think this statement should be considered. Why the heck would Ken Levine talk about the Wii U FOR Nintendo’s E3 vids..? Something goes wrong there..

    Thats a damn shame.

    At the same time, it can’t be ignored that Ken Levine is at least interested in the Wii U. They really need to develop a game of their usual quality for it, but it’s pretty clear to me that they’re not dismissing the console as “another Wii” either.

    Now id! There’s a company who needs their heads examined.
    id = irrational dopes

    “Not planning” is not the same as definitely not going to. I bet that they will at least port their games to the Wii U, at some stage. It would be “Irrational” to ignore what is bound to become a significant part of the market, even if it does not become the market leader.

    It’s too early to know for sure. I find it humorous the compliments that he gave the system last week and now to hear about this? Things change. We’ll just have to wait and see.

    well less money for them then 😛

    This is a bit disappointing but I don’t see why they wouldn’t release something for it in the future.
