Mighty Switch Force HD is coming to the Wii U

In an interview with the magazine Nintendo power, creative director of WayForward Matt Bozon, announced that Mighty Switch Force HD will be making its way to the Wii U’s download service.

The side-scrolling platformer will feature all new graphics and will use the Wii U’s GamePad screen as a map while showing the main action on the television screen. Bozon also confirmed that the game would be entirely playable on the GamePad.

The creative director explained that new features could also be coming to the game:

“We’re having a tough time putting our pencils down, so we may end up adding even more features before we’re done. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s possible before launch!”

News from Nintendo’s Annual Shareholder Meeting

Two days ago, Nintendo’s annual shareholder meeting took place, and one of the things announced was – an announcement yet to be made. According to Satoru Iwata, the Japanese Wii U plans will be unveiled this fall.

Furthermore, Iwata stated that while he doesn’t reject paid online services, the Wii U will have free services. This measure is supposed to lead to more hardware and software sales.

[Video] Rayman Legends gameplay

Rayman Legends, which has already been leaked last month, was properly revealed at Ubisoft’s E3 conference. Legends will feature a new character controlled by the Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen, Murphy, and will support up to 5 players simultaneously. Furthermore, it will be released exclusively for Wii U.

Fox failed with Nintendo 3DS; CNN fails with the Wii U

Wii U eShop coinciding with launch of the console

Well, Nintendo has finally announced that, along with being able to import previous Wii eShop purchases, the Wii U eShop will be available with the launch of the console. Games already announced are BIT.TRIP Runner 2, Chasing Aurora, Cloudberry Kingdom, and 1000 Spikes. We also speculate that Gamecube games may be on the horizon for the Wii U eShop.

30 FPS for multiple gamepad use

Satura Iwata, president of Nintendo, tweeted this earlier in regards to the FPS to multiple gamepad controller use for the Wii U.

“When you use two, the framerate halves to 30 frames per second.”

New Super Mario Bros. U: Iwata Asks
