Project Café to simply be called ‘Nintendo’?

Nintendo Logo

Yep, you read the title of this post right. We’re less than two days away from E3 now, and GameInformer is hearing talk that the Wii 2 won’t be called the Stream, Feel, Beem, or anything of the sort. Their sources tell them that it will simply be called…

…Nintendo.

That will serve to confuse many parents who still call the NES, SNES and N64 the ‘Nintendo’. Heck, some even call the GC and Wii the ‘Nintendo!’

Nonetheless, it’s still an awesome name 😛

lol I agree, every Nintendo console is simply a Nintendo to most people. Case in point, I have a neighbor I hang out with and she knows I play video games but didn’t know I was a Nintendo fanboy and had most of the NES classics on Wii. When she found out I had Super Mario Kart lol she was freaking out. “OMG I used to play that so much when I was young.” Then she poses the question seriously “Do you want to play Nintendo” is how she phrased the question. I just said “Yes, I want to play Nintendo.” I had such a huge smile on my face cuz it was way better than getting asked do you want to play Super Mario Kart. This was just last night, lol blazed up and played 2 and a half hours of Super Mario Kart.

  2. simple yet brilliant

What about, Hyper nintendo, also know as HNES

  5. Some parents call the 3DS and Ds gameboy and the NES, SNES, N64, GCN, and Wii the Nintendo. No matter what the system is going to be called, people are going to call it the Nintendo.

I like one suggestion there… Personal Nintendo Entertainment System, or PNES for short… I laughed!

I could see it as the name simple and elegant

That would be an interesting name. If not that, then Stream would also be great.
