Zelda: Skyward Sword is still coming to the Wii in 2011

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword screenshotIn other words, it won’t be going the way of Twilight Princess and jumping to the Wii’s successor at the last minute.

In an interview with MCV, Nintendo’s marketing manager Rob Lowe (re-)confirmed this by telling us that, “there are great new pieces of software launching this year such as Wii Play: Motion in June and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword later on in 2011.” So if you were afraid of Skyward Sword getting moved (and potentially delayed), you can rest assured that you’ll still be able to get your hands on it this year.

I want E3 to get here so we can get more Wii games like Kirby, Xenoblade and Pandora’s Tower announced for the US and they won’t have to call Wii Play Motion a “great game” anymore. 😛 Not exactly the best title to bring up when making the point that Wii games are on the way.

Sadly, according to Reggie, Wii Music is a “hardcore” game. With that twisted view of what a good game is, it’s hard to tell if what they’re saying about Wii’s upcoming “games” is true. I hate to say it, but it’s possible he really IS talking about Wii Play Motion. These executives make me sick. The fact that they can lie like that with a straight face about what makes counts as quality games is repulsive. What’s even more disgusting is that they know that no matter what they say, loyal fans won’t do a thing about it. They know they can easily make ridiculous claims like “Wii Music is hardcore!”, without any consequences. Being a game enthusiast makes it hard to just walk past Nintendo. They know they’ve got us by the balls, and that we’ll put up with very obvious lies just to get our next fix.

I love the people who make the good Nintendo games. Those that actually work on quality projects are what make Nintendo good to me; But its executives are vermin, and make it tempting to just pass up Nintendo. Devs like Sakaguchi are what keep me drawn to Nintendo, but not two face scammers like Reggie.

Let’s just hope that this time, they aren’t lying to us, although I can’t say I’ll be surprised if they are lying.

If it involves Software Development Group No. 2 (and doesn’t use the words “Animal” and “Crossing,” if you’re into that sort of thing), then don’t buy it. It’s that simple.

Oh, and Software Development Group No. 5 was only repsonsible for Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus and Steel Diver. If those aren’t your thing, you’ll want to avoid them, too.

Good news, I did not want another Twilight Princess fiasco, loved the game but the NGC to Wii port did not make me a happy camper. Skyward Sword should be the game to finish off the Wii, unless Nintendo decides to go with a dual consoles on the market.

I’m glad this has been settled. The Wii needs this to carry it through its final holiday. Im hoping they keep a next gen Zelda under wraps at E3. It would make no sense to overshadow Skyward Sword with another Zelda game.

I don’t mind as the Wii 2 will get a zelda anyway.
