Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge features touchscreen controls

I’m happy to see that Nintendo won’t be getting the shaft anymore with major multiplatform releases; and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, one of the first Wii U games to be announced, is certainly no exception.

Ninja Gaiden 3 - Razor's Edge

The Wii U version of the game will be unique in that it incorporates touchscreen controls in the style of Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the DS. Kotaku explains that Dragon Sword “used screen taps to throw shurikens and move Ryu, swipes of the screen to jump and slash at enemies,” so you can expect to see a similar setup in Razor’s Edge.

If you’d still rather enjoy the game’s shiny, awesome visuals without your fingers getting in the way (or perhaps you just prefer to play with physical controls), a traditional control scheme will be available, too. The touchscreen option does sound very interesting, though, and I’d at least give it a shot before making up my mind about it.

They are optional, so sure go ahead and throw them in there! 😛

I’m sure a few small-minded “hardcore” people will call fail on this game instantly because it even houses a non-button/analog only control scheme as an option, but that’s their loss.

  2. Wiiu? hell yeah i will!!!

in all core games were its fp view or 3rd person or over shoulder,, a wii remote destroys a second analog stick as does a mouse like touch screen

just because a touch screen can be used for mindless waggle and a wii remote also (no different to button bashing so hardcores are hypercritical) it doesnt change the FACT they totally own a analog sticks ass

resident evil 4 wii edition proves this cod wii proves this metroid prime 3 proves this all on rails shooters prove this zelda cross bow training proves this ETC ETC ETC ETC

i want my core games to support BETTER THAN DUAL STICK controls and thats what touch screen offers and wii remote plus and gro motion sencers and the screen…

my brothers a huge bad compan fan but hates his ps3 he was asking me stuff like can i be the tank firing gu and aim via the mini screen as if its the aiming head gear in a tank

This is what we’ve been waiting for. Multi-platform games finally getting support.

The Wii was very good, but this looks to surpass it.

  4. Epic Kirby

I will probably use the touch controls but I’m glad they’re optional.
