Wii U to be a great console for MMORPG’s

Funcom's Upcoming fantasy MMO Secret World

The Wii U’s touchscreen controller may make the Wii U a great platform for MMO games. While speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, Funcom’s Joel Bylos explained that the touchscreen would allow the console to run MMO games without compromising the experience.

Wii U could be the first real console on which running an MMORPG without compromise is plausible. The controller is perfect for lining up those rows of hotbars that are essential in most MMOs. A customisable touchscreen interface combined with the 3D spatial movement of a console controller could be a winner.

Hopefully developers will take note and utilise the advantages that the Wii U’s unique controller provides.

The Wii U’s touchscreen controller is indeed a perfect match for MMOs. No more hunting for special keyboard controllers! Right now i’m really hoping for a Phantasy Star 2 port (Zapper support for the Ranger class would make me cry tears of joy), but that’s probably out of the question.

      Agreed

However, I hate when developers say things positive about the Wii U and don’t actually deliver something

Wii u is looking like a good console so far (to me) and I personally would love to see some good MMORPG’s on the system because console MMORPG launches are becoming less and less frequent and I don’t want PC’s to take over the gaming industry (mainly because I’m not supposed to have games on my PC for school (and because its a Mac :P))
