Koizumi: Too many ideas for Mario Wii U
The director of Super Mario 3D Land, Yoshiaki Koizumi, is apparently buzzing with ideas for the Nintendo Wii U. While speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine he explained that he actually has “too many” ideas for a Mario game on the console.
“As it turns out, I have too many ideas at the moment for Mario games on Wii U,” said Koizumi. “I’m going to have to start narrowing them down and thinking about which ideas might work well together so that the whole system will be an enjoyable experience rather than a hodgepodge of ideas.”
It will be interesting to see if it will be anything like the Super Mario Mii tech demo or be something entirely different.
What would you like to see in a Wii U Mario?

I want to be like the rumored super mario world 3 with the MASSIVE open world thats like super mario 64 styled gameplay YES THAT WOULD BE VERY EPIC
I would like to have them implement all the ideas. Even if it turns out to be a hodgepodge .. just create sub-worlds as they always do and stick to the ideas that work well with each world. That way it’s huge and varied.
If the ideas are anything like mine, this will work.
They should make Super Mario 64 2 for the Wii U, the game that never got released due to the 64DD’s late release.
That would be great for people who like Super Mario 64. Exploring instead of going from start to goal. I like exploring more. And I’ve got nothing against the “from start to goal” kind of Mario game.
Am I the only one who wants SM64 2? =/
“The Mushroom Kingdom”
3D Mario set throughout the entire Mushroom Kingdom ala Paper Mario, except a 3D platformer ala Super Mario 64 with a rockin’ storyline and multiple playable characters.
Yes please.
make a 3D mario that follows the 2D traditions a open world of various roots to the flag and mario going in all directions in a huge 3D space but based around 2D mario levels and gameplay screw that star chasing nonsense…
Mam mia! Too many ideas! Hmmm, well, hopefully they’ll mix up the best of ’em and make something awesmazing!
