Why the Wii 2’s rumoured touchscreen controller makes perfect sense
Chris Kohler of Wired.com has written a wonderful editorial on why it makes perfect sense for Nintendo’s next home console to have a touchscreen controller. It touches on Nintendo’s past attempts to add extra screens beyond the TV to the living room, and presents several likely reasons for why the Wii’s wireless connectivity to the DS ended up being woefully underutilized.
I’d summarize the piece for you, but to do so would be a disservice to Chris’s work, so I’ll leave you with a link to his original article. It’s a great read, particularly if your head is spinning with the numerous stories that have been coming out over the past few days, as the writing takes its time and doesn’t rush ahead. By all means, do check it out.

I’ll call it now – Zelda: Four Swords Quest as a launch title and Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicle Remake within the first two months.
Both of those games were so awesome! I think I’ve only been able to play Four Swords multiplayer once, but man was it fun! I reaaaaally hope Nintendo pushes this type of gameplay!
I was never fortunate enough to get a chance to try Four Swords, but I’ve heard so many amazing things about it. I really hope it (or a sequel) makes it to the Wii 2 in some capacity, too.
