Xbox Live ports coming to the Wii 2? (and more rumours)
Emily Rogers has done it again. This time her sources have apparently given her information on the Wii 2’s digital content. Firstly she was told that SEGA are getting ready to port some of their Xbox Live Arcade Genesis games to the Wii 2’s Virtual service. The details of which exact ones were not given.
One of the rumours which we can pretty much guarantee to be true is that the Wii 2 will be receiving its own version of WiiWare.
She was also told that a select few of virtual console titles will be made available in HD but it seems that a lot of them will not be receiving this treatment. Emily Rogers also mentioned that her source told her that a lot of the SNES games will not be made available in HD because they become blurry as they weren’t originally designed with widescreen TVs in mind.
It was also mentioned that Virtual Console titles will be transferable from from your Nintendo Wii to the Wii 2 but if you want the HD versions you will have to buy them again at full price. So if you already have a title from Virtual Console and you want the HD version you will not get a free upgrade and will have to buy that title again. Her source did not tell her whether WiiWare titles will be transferable or not.
So what do you think of Emily Rogers’ newest set of rumours?

I know the article was only referring to SEGA doing HD Genesis games, but if Café gets Shadow Complex I’ll jizz my pants.
While most of Emily’s “info” has been sketchy so far, this one could just as easily have been thought up by anyone reading this if they thought really hard about it. Therefore, I’m inclined to believe it.
It sucks that we have to buy the games again if we want them in HD but unsuprising.
Is it just me or have I suddenly moved to Germany lol?
I have no idea. In any case, your IP address appears to be located in South Africa at the moment. Where the German flag’s coming from is beyond me.
Real German here^^

This. Statement. Is. False!
That statement would only be true if the games were rendered in the original 256×256 px resolution and upscaled, which would make it blurry. However, if each in-game pixel is rendered as 4×4 pixels (so the 4×4 pixels make a sharp, perfect square) to be put up on the TV, that would make the resolution 1024×1024 px, which would make the picture look very sharp.
