Our first look at Monolith Soft’s next game

A trailer was shown for Monolith Soft’s next game during the last Nintendo Direct. The game seems to be similar to their previous game, the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, and may feature multiplayer as suspected by the side bar on the left during parts of the trailer. The next 3D Mario and Mario Kart to be at E3 2013

In the last Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announced that the next 3D Mario platformer from Nintendo EAD and the next Mario Kart will be playable at E3 2013 in June. No further information was given on the subject.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem announced

In an unexpected twist to yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, a crossover game between Nintendo and Atlus, currently named “Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem“, was announced.

The game will be a crossover (obviously) between the Fire Emblem series from Nintendo and the Shin Megami Tensei series from Atlus. No gameplay, story details, or release window were revealed, and all we got was a trailer you can watch after the break.

New Miiverse functionality discussed

At the recent Nintendo Direct, President Satoru Iwata spoke about plans for Miiverse in the future. These include:

  • A browser form of Miiverse for quick browsing on a smart phone or computer
  • A Miiverse app that will be coming to smart phones in the future
  • User created communities
  • New post filtering system

These updates will begin (not all at the same time) sometime after the Wii U’s Spring Update.

30th Anniversary celebration with Virtual Console

This year marks the 30th anniversary for when the Famicom was released in Japan. To celebrate, Nintendo is running a special promotion where every month leading up through July, Nintendo will make a new Virtual Console game available for 30 cents for 30 days. The games that will be featured are:

  • January – Balloon Fight
  • February- F-Zero
  • March- Punch Out! Featuring Mr. Dream
  • April- Kirby’s Adventure
  • May- Super Metroid
  • June- Yoshi
  • July- Donkey Kong

These games will only last until the promotion is over, then you will have to buy them from the Virtual Console when it is released.

Little Inferno on sale until February 1st

Little Inferno, on the Wii U eShop, was on sale last month, but the deal has been extended. The normal price of Little Inferno is $14.99, but it is now on sale ’til February 1st for only $9.99.

Tank! Tank! Tank! free-to-play in Japan

Tank! Tank! Tank!

Tank! Tank! Tank! has not been performing well with sales and as a result from that it has gone free-to-play on the Wii U eShop. The free version does not contain all of the maps or a campaign mode. However, this extra content can be purchased and added to the free version.

Hopefully, this goes outside of Japan and encourages the developers to make more content for the game.

Nintendo TVii is now online in North America

Nintendo TVii was pushed back from being available on the launch day of the Wii U to sometime in December.

That time is now, and there is no update required! Just start it from the home menu.

Nintendo TVii will reach the UK in early 2013.

Toki Tori 2 moved to 2013

If you were looking forward to playing Toki Tori 2 this year, you’re going to have to wait a little longer. Two Tribes announced via their official website that it will not be launching at its previously announced date of December 20th, but instead it will release early next year.

Rayman Legends receives an eShop demo

The demo for Rayman Legends is now available on the Wii U eShop! The full game will launch in early 2012.
