Capcom won’t be having playable Wii U games at E3

According to Nintendo World Report Capcom will not be having playable games on any Nintendo consoles at E3 2012. Nintendo World Report were told by a Capcom representative that this would be the case.

FIFA 13 is likely to come to the Wii U?

The next title in the popular football series of games has been announced to be coming to the Wii and the Nintendo 3DS. However, this begs the question of whether a Wii U version of the title is also in the works.

Eurogamer recently reported that a Wii U version is being developed but by a different team from the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 versions. Not only that but EA have been quite supportive of the Wii U ever since it was shown at E3 2011, so it doesn’t seem too far-fetched to expect that FIFA 13 will be coming to the console.

Do Tecmo Koei have more in store for the Wii U?

Last week in a financial statement, Tecmo Koei discussed plans of taking advantage of new hardware launches by actively releasing products for new consoles. While not specifically mentioning the Wii U, it is a console that we know will be launching soon. Not only that but the Wii U is pictured on the slides shown at the earnings briefing.

The problem is, this could just be an acknowledgement of the titles that we already know Tecmo Koei have planned for the Wii U, such as, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. However, There have been rumours floating around that Tecmo Koei plans to announce a new IP at E3 2012. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

What it will be like to control the xenomorphs

We’ve recently had footage of what Aliens: Colonial Marines multiplayer will be like but the footage was very much focused on the marines’ point of view. What about playing as those deadly alien xenomorphs?

CVG‘s preview of the game mentioned that aliens are played from the third person view and that there is a class system for xenomorphs as well the marines.

In a recent interview, Gearbox’s Chris Brock explained why they had chosen a third person perspective for the aliens:

We feel it’s key to keep the xenomorph player’s perspective in third person. Xenos have to be sneaky and agile, so the wall and ceiling climbing is a necessity. That said, playing in that style, in first person, can be quite disorienting.

Luigi’s Mansion is coming to the Wii U?

Could our favourite ‘green hatted’ plumber be coming to the Wii U? The retailer Play.com has suggested so by listing Luigi’s Mansion 2 for the Wii U. However, there is also the possibility that the entry of the title is just a placeholder or a mistake.

It doesn’t seem too far-fetched to expect a Luigi’s Mansion game on the Wii U at sometime, seeing as the 3DS will be receiving some Luigi love soon. Whether the listed title represents a placeholder or an actual game in development is something only time will tell.

Visuals and side quests in Metro: Last Light

The next round of  questions for 4A games and THQ from the fans on Metro: Last Light forums have been answered. This time the questions focused on the game’s visuals, side quests and weaponry.

The first question asked what visual and graphical changes there were from the previous game to Metro: Last Light. The answer was:

We’ve improved virtually every aspect of the visuals. Some of these changes are subtle, some will be very apparent when you play the game. We’re particularly proud of the advances we’ve made to our outdoor environments, something we hope to show off in the not too distant future… The long answer starts to get a lot more technical, so rather than try and address that here we’ll be talking more about the advances we’ve made to our tech in a lot more detail further down theline.
